Help Support Company Q: Queer Youth Theater in Kentucky
My name is Mead Ryder. I've been with Company Q since the beginning. I was 18 and a senior in high school. At that point I knew I wanted to pursue theater professionally and in college, but I had never thought about going into any sort of social justice or queer theater. The founders of Q asked me to join and start recruiting people and it sounded like fun. So I started going to most of the meetings, finding a lot of fun people to join, some stuck, some didn't. They were all awesome. I've made some of my best friends at Q, bonds I never would've made without that space either. Through making theater that used ourselves and experiences we researched, we truly came closer and more comfortable in our own skin. The people that find their way into Company Q are some of the most unique, kind, creative and unbridled spirits I've ever met.The funds you provide will allow Company Q to launch its fourth season. It will pay for performance spaces, guest artists, gas stipends, and basically keeping the lights on. We need YOUR generous support to thrive. Please consider donating to Company Q. If you can't give financially, we'd love for you donate your time by sharing ourstory and our work with your community. There is a need for this space. Without Company Q, these kids and I would have no place to go to finally say what we've been trying to for so long. Groups like this are rare everywhere, but especially in Kentucky. This is such a unique opportunity we need to keep a live, because with out us certain kids will grow thinking they're alone. We have plenty to say and the world has heard anything like it before. Thank you.To help support Company Q, please go to our Indiegogo campaign, where we've already raised more than half of our goal.
