PFLAG logoLexington PFLAG (Parents, Friends, and Family of Lesbians and Gays) is a support group for parents and families with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning (LGBTQ) sons or daughters, as well as other LGBTQ persons and allies. They hold support group meetings from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 2025 Bellefonte Drive, on the second Tuesday of the month, and have some special topical meetings coming up in the next few months. To check them out, go to www.pflaglex.org Tuesday, June 11Faith and Sexual Orientation, Part 1

  • How do we reconcile religious beliefs and teachings, Scripture, God, and homosexuality?
  • How have faith communities changed in their attitudes?
  • Discussion by a Scripture scholar and clergy from various denominations

 Faith and Sexual Orientation, Part 2 will follow in fall of 2013. That discussion will focus on current issues such as ordination of gays, policies and rituals regarding commitment or marriage ceremonies for same-sex couples.
